I am a Licensed Associated Counselor (LAC) and Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), available to provide counseling to children, teens and young adults, ages 5 through 24. I also have experience with Psychodrama and Narradrama.
My passion for working with youth started in the classroom as a kindergarten teacher in Philadelphia. I then became a teacher of English Language Arts, History and Theatre to 4 through 16 year olds for a decade in eastern Massachusetts and New York City. Most recently, I have worked as a Certified School Counselor in Tucson and Green Valley. I enjoy helping children bridge the gap between academic struggles and social/emotional challenges, so that they can become more confident learners, improve peer relationships and thrive at home.
I believe in the power of play and how it can help transform a child’s ability to identify their feelings, set goals and ultimately feel more empowered in relation to their own choices, even at a young age. I am consistent in my team approach to working with all families. I am a patient, compassionate and creative therapist who works in earnest to address the unique needs of each individual with whom I work to ensure they reach their goals. I use foundational Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts to help clients explore the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. This allows individuals of all ages to reach the root cause of their challenges and become an agent of change. I integrate creative elements—including bibliotherapy, journaling, expressive writing, music, movement, play, and art therapy—into my therapeutic practice. I individualize sessions based on a client’s hobbies, interests, and therapy goals to engage them as dynamically as possible. I also embrace a strengths-based approach to recognize each individual’s innate gifts in the therapy environment and to empower clients to embody more positive self-talk and overall confidence. I enjoy using innovative therapeutic tools, from painting to poetry, in my counseling work in order to add depth to traditional talk therapy.
I am also a devoted mom and enjoy cooking, hiking and listening to podcasts in my free time.
I am currently accepting clients in a satellite Green Valley/Sahuarita Location. Please inquire only if you are in the Green Valley/ Sahuarita area.

Hello and welcome!I am a licensed associate counselor (LAC, soon to be LPC!) who is grateful to be fulfilling my passion in working with children and young adults (ages 5-24). I love to engage collaboratively with children and families and I feel honored to be a part of their growth and self-enhancement. I know getting started with therapy can induce nervousness and I take great pride in creating a safe space that is collaborative, creative, inviting, accessible, and trauma informed. Therapy is a space where we can explore concerns and it is also a place to be reminded of your child’s strengths and resilience.
My passion for working with children began as a volunteer at a local children’s shelter in Tucson. This passion has continued in my career in working with children with Autism and in various Children’s Advocacy Centers. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I am a proud Tucson native and a Mexican American woman who can communicate fluently with families in Spanish through speaking, reading, and writing. I believe in providing quality services to all members of our diverse community.
Using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), EMDR, and creative interventions, I have an immense passion that involves helping children and families through anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. I believe therapy is not a one-size fits all approach, and I take my time in creating a space in which clients and families feel comfortable, supported, and safe. My light continues to grow as I witness children and families build resilience through healing from their difficult life experiences.
EMDR is a helpful therapy intervention that can help lessen many distressing symptoms (i.e. panic, worry, anxiety), and I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety to help unravel worries. We work on unlocking some of those negative memories that cause individuals to get stuck and we reduce their intensity. As such, we begin to see anxiety lessen and become more manageable. New, helpful and positive thought processes can emerge. I enjoy seeing my client’s symptoms related to anxiety subside as we embark on our EMDR journey. Contact us if you are interested to see if you are a good fit for EMDR.
I am accepting new clients! I am available Monday/Tuesday morning and early afternoon.
¡Hola y bienvenidos!
